Week Notes

Week Notes

This is the unglamorous part of the site, but possibly the most useful.

Every week I publish a plain account of what I actually did in my indie author business that week. Not the wins dressed up for social media. The real list. Words written, or not written. Ads launched, paused, and quietly killed. Social media posted and ignored. Spreadsheets fiddled with. Software set up, broken, and fixed again. Emails sent. Decisions made and second-guessed.

Why bother? Because when I was starting out, this was exactly the stuff I couldn't find anywhere. Everyone shows you the book launch. Nobody shows you the Tuesday night spent untangling Amazon attribution links, or the twenty minutes deciding whether an ad with a 0.4% click rate deserves another week. The day-to-day work of being an indie author is almost completely invisible, and that invisibility makes the whole thing look either effortless or impossible, depending on your mood.

It's neither. It's just work, done in small pieces, week after week. This section shows you the pieces.

Fair warning: these notes are granular and unpolished by design. Some weeks will be busy, some will be thin, and some will be honest accounts of getting very little done. That's the point. If you're building your own author business alongside a job, a family, or a life, I hope seeing the true shape of the work makes yours feel more possible.

Start anywhere. They're written to stand alone.
