About Indie Author Notes
Back in 2020, stuck at home like everyone else, I finally wrote the novel I'd been putting off for twenty years.
The funny thing is, I'd done all the "right" things to become a writer. I even picked up an MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College in 1997. Then I went off and built a career in digital product design and consulting instead. The novel waited. When the world stopped, I ran out of excuses. That book became The Weaver, the first in the Old Blood Saga.
Here's what nobody warned me about: writing the book was the easy part. Publishing it was a whole second education. Covers, editing, ads, algorithms, read-through rates. I had a lot to learn, and I'm still learning it.
So in 2023 I made a five-year plan to go from full-time consultant with a part-time writing habit to full-time author. Indie Author Notes is where I write about that journey as it happens. Not the highlight reel. The actual experience, wins and misfires alike, with real numbers and honest hindsight.
What you'll find here
