Scott Hoadley - Tags: Week Notes **Monday** Some notable things to point out between Friday and Sunday: - Friday: Revenue - £89.04\. 10 ebook & 5 paperback sales. 12,711 KU page reads. - Saturday: Revenue - £79.31\. 11 ebook sales. 13,417 KU page reads. - Sunday: Revenue - £75.56\. 7 ebook & 6 paperback sales. 12,265 KU page reads. So, the last 3 days have been much better. The 20% bump on the new ads on Thursday is definitely showing results in terms of revenue. The numbers have picked up across the board. I wrote 1,835 words on Saturday and took Sunday off from writing, wanting a bit of a break. Today I wrote 105 words. Not much, but at least I got some words down. My partner is returning from a 2 week trip to Poland today, so doing things around the flat in preparation for his return. **Tuesday** Yesterday in numbers: - Revenue: £91.64 - Book sales: 12 ebooks & 4 paperbacks - KU page reads: 14,294 Today I managed to write 2,525 words in the new book. That's 19 out of 34 chapters written. Tomorrow I'll be starting chapter 20 which feels really good. I'm also in the process of finalizing a contract for a new consulting project which I'll start on Monday, so will have to re-jig my schedule to fit around a Monday to Friday, 9-5 role for a while. I've done this most of the time I've been writing, so will speak more about what that schedule looks like once I've revised it. **Wednesday** Yesterday in numbers: - Revenue: £61.01 - Book sales: 3 ebooks & 3 paperbacks - KU page reads: 13,705 I'd also noticed this morning that my social media feeds had dried up yesterday, e.g. I forgot to refill them using the auto-generated social content automation I built. Today I'll refill Buffer with 2 weeks worth of Threads, Facebook, and Instagram posts. Additionally, I shot a lot of b-roll video for my TikTok feed. TikTok had a bit of a wobble over a few days at the end of last week and I had hardly any views. Strangely, after contacting them, they looked into it, said there was no problem, and then mysteriously, 2 of my videos that had stalled suddenly started collecting views again. So clearly there was some issue. I'll create a video today to send out and see how it does. I ended up writing 537 words today. Meh! **Thursday** Yesterday in numbers: - Revenue: £70.62 - Book sales: 5 ebooks & 3 paperbacks - KU page reads: 14,815 Was busy today sorting out contractual stuff for a new consulting project so that took a chunk of my day. I've also been writing. Will provide the final word count once I'm finished for the day. Started thinking about listening to the audio book tracks for Old Blood which have been sitting in my inbox for a few weeks. I think I'll listen to a couple tonight and then really hit them over the next few days. Ideally, I'd like to have all the edits / revisions over to my narrator Callum and producer Morrison by late Sunday so that we can finalize it. So that's next on the agenda. And people ask - why isn't your book finished yet? So many things to do. As I'd said I shot loads of TikTok video b-roll yesterday and managed to publish 2 TikTok videos, one of which has gotten in the 700 views. So my TikTok seems to be back working relatively normally again. About to make another one to send out this evening. Will let you know how it goes. Also, have filled my Buffer queue to get me through Sunday. I'll probably sit down tomorrow or Saturday, create some new images for the library in Airtable and then create generate and approve 2 weeks worth of posts. Thank god I built this automation or it would take ages. **Friday** Yesterday in numbers: - Revenue: £72.88 - Book sales: 8 ebooks & 2 paperbacks - KU page reads: 12,687 Yesterday was a good revenue day. I'm going to run an analysis today on the 1st to 14th results to see how the ads actually performed, and to determine if I should increase my spend. This week I also set myself (and Claude) a task of organizing which Facebook Groups I post in and a schedule of posting. I researched groups that were relevant for my books and made a list in Notion, along with the name of the group, size of the group's membership, the URL, and whether I was a member. Claude took this and created an Airtable schedule which evenly distributes the groups (based on membership size) across a 4-day rotation, e.g. every 4 days I post in a select set of groups on a rolling schedule. I started doing this on Wednesday. I've set up a filter in the table that show's me on a daily basis which Groups to post in which makes it a quick and simple process. I think I'm also going to amend this database to hold post content as well, giving me a growing range of content I can copy and paste into a post. I am using the images I've already created in my Airtable Digital Asset Management system for my regular daily social media posts, so there is no additional image creation required. I will do an article about both of these processes to go into more detail. I wrote 2,814 words in The Conclave yesterday. A solid writing day. Finished Chapter 20, so onto Chapter 21 today. I scheduled my editor for mid-November now with the idea of publishing The Conclave in the run-up to Christmas. I'm going to look at setting up a pre-order today on Amazon. Separately, I'm beginning to receive requests to coach and mentor other authors. I'll write more about that in a future post.
